Our son Trey has been coming to Lighthouse Academy since he was a little over a year and now he's almost 5.  He has always loved coming.  He has never been apprehensive about attending and I attribute that to the loving care-takers and teachers.  There are days that he says he doesn't want to leave when I pick him up.
At Lighthouse I know that he is learning God-centered, Christ-like values.  We talk about his experiences at the end of each day and even when he has been in the wrong, he knows why.  He knows that God still loves him and wants him to do better and that tomorrow is a new day to try again fresh.  He has formed wonderful friendships with his classmates.  I am certain that those friendships are due to the values that are taught. The administrators and board of directors are also top-notch.  When my mother in Michigan fell ill and we went to care for her, they were very supportive in handling Trey's absence and re-entry into the Academy.  When it is in their power they are flexible.  They are also sympathetic to the unique child care needs of this city. We are all going to miss Lighthouse when it comes time for Trey to start Kindergarten.

I have a daughter who has attended Lighthouse Academy since, 2005.  I could not ask for more in a day care.  The teachers are so amorous and truly go above and beyond their call of duty.  They let me call and talk to my daughter if I need to check up on her.  When I found out I was pregnant, I had no contemplations about sending my newborn there as well. My daughter now 4 years old loves and looks forward to school everyday.  My newborn, smiles at his teachers every time I drop him off in his classroom.  The other day my daughter was a little sad when I left to work. When I left the doors, I noticed I forgot my baby’s blanket.  When I went back in, one of the teachers had her on her lap and was hugging her.  My kids love Lighthouse Academy!  They are not just a facility...They are family! Thank you Lighthouse Academy for making me feel at ease when I can not be with my children myself.

We found a wonderful school and family for our two boys. Our youngest had a lot of trouble with behavior and most people had written him off- some even told us to have him evaluated for learning disabilities through the school district. A new teacher, Ms.Emma, arrived and planned her classroom activities to fit EACH child, not just the "normal group". This helped our little guy to get the special attention and learn to understand how to merge with the group and become a part of the class. Ms Marlea, Ms Kim and the teachers at Lighthouse devised their own plan and strategically outsmarted our little guy into a new angel that everyone loves to be around.
The teachers and staff feel more like friends and family to us- we were so sad when our youngest had graduated from the Pre K program and had to enter Kindergarten- we miss our friends and family at Lighthouse dearly.
We recommend Lighthouse to anyone who is looking for a home for their kids to learn and be loved by so many! You can't ask for more wonderful teachers and staff who obviously love what they are doing- It sure shows in the love and attention they give to each child!

Parenthood did not come easily or quickly for us, so when we were finally blessed with Scott, we wanted to make sure that we were going to send him to the very best daycare/preschool we could.  Fortunately, Lighthouse Academy opened just a few months after Scott was born.  Scott has now been attending Lighthouse for just over three years, and he is growing so much--socially, academically, and spiritually.  He amazes us all the time with the things that he knows and does.  He loves going to "school", loves all of his teachers, and has lots of friends.  Scott also likes the extra offerings--karate, gymnastics, and computer learning.  Our family and friends are all amazed at how great Scott is doing at Lighthouse, and quite a few friends have also enrolled their children at Lighthouse, based on what they see in Scott.  I have always been so impressed with the teachers at Lighthouse--every child is greeted with love every morning, individually, and is made to feel special.  And their patience level is a gift straight from God!

Our family has been associated with Lighthouse academy since it opened on its Horizon Ridge campus. Our 6 year old began attending when he was 3 years old and graduated in 2007. Our 3 year old has been attending since she was 6 months old and now is in the Pelican room.
We have nothing but great things to say about Lighthouse Academy. We feel that our children are in a loving, caring, small, and most of all in a safe environment at Lighthouse. Our children love the teachers at Lighthouse most of all, it is a home away from home for them, and that is very important to us as parents. We also feel that they are preparing them well for school at Lighthouse. Our oldest entered kindergarten this year and we felt, as well as the kindergarten teacher, that he was well adjusted both educationally and socially for a full day experience at school.
I am so glad that we were able to put our children in Lighthouse academy for their daycare experience. We know as parents that it is a great place when our children are excited to go in the morning and smiling when we pick them up. We feel that it is a great family environment.

We have watched our daughter blossom at Lighthouse Academy since we started her in 2006.  It is wonderful to know that our daughter is enthusiastic and happy to attend school. Every day she is filled with pride and excitement as she recites bible verses, sings songs, and writes letters and numbers for us after school.  Hearing her speak about her teachers shows me the love and attention she gets from them.  While volunteering and spending time in the classroom, I have observed that the teachers truly care about enriching each child both emotionally and academically based on their individual strengths and abilities. The positive and loving environment has enabled our daughter to grow socially, spiritually and emotionally. We are blessed to have our daughter attend such a wonderful place.

Three years ago I decided to go back to work for our family owned business with a heavy heart.  This meant giving up my time at home with my children and entrusting them with people I didn’t know.  We started our daughter at a local Christian daycare, but after a few months she was so unhappy and withdrawn which was concerning considering she is a vibrant happy little girl!  That is when we found LIGHTHOUSE ACADEMY.  A family friend highly recommended the facility and we were lucky enough to get a spot.  Within a week the difference in our daughter was amazing.  She was happy and comfortable at Lighthouse and the teachers were so loving and good with her.  I was able to call whenever I wanted to check on her and she has even called me when she has been upset or missing us.  She is now in the pre-K program and excelling in all of the areas required for Kindergarten whether she attends a private school or public.   Our family feels so blessed to have found such wonderful people who genuinely love our daughter.  The size of Lighthouse is perfect and the ease of communication with administration and teachers is such a bonus!  I can always trust that the classrooms are clean and safe and our daughter loves her friends that she has made.  It will be hard to leave in the fall, but at least we know that she is grounded, outgoing, and has a strong love for Christ.

Choosing a caretaker for your children is one of the most important decisions you will make. So, when I set out to select a caretaker for my kids, I developed specific criteria that I felt were imperative. I wanted my children to be in a clean, loving, Christian environment where they could grow, learn, feel loved and be happy. That is exactly what I found at the Lighthouse Academy. At the Lighthouse Academy, the caretakers and teachers are the most caring individuals and truly love the children they care for. I started my first child at the Lighthouse at the age of 3 months. He is now nearly 3 years old and has been there the entire time. He has been extremely well cared for, has learned a great deal, and knows he is loved every day. My experience has been so positive that when I had my second child, I started her at the Lighthouse at the age of 3 months when I returned to work. She is now 8 months old, and, once again, I’ve had nothing but a positive experience.
I highly recommend anyone who values and desires a loving, Christian learning environment for their children to visit the Lighthouse Academy.
